Early this week, the Food and Drug Administration sent out a recommendation urging meat producers to limit the use of antibiotics in their animals. The FDA’s recommendation is that antibiotics or “antimicrobials” are they often called, should only be used to treat sick animals, not as a means to raise the animals bigger and faster.
