S.T.O.P., which stands for Safe Tables Our Priority, is a national, not-for profit organization that is leading the charge for food safety reform.
During the E. coli O157:H7 outbreaks of the early nineties, S.T.O.P. became a recognized name to foodborne illness victims and their families by providing assistance and support in the aftermath of their illness and by giving them a voice on Capitol Hill.
Today, more than 15 years later, the advocates at this organization are just as tirelessly dedicated to making our food supply safer and making a difference in the lives of people affected by foodborne illness and its devastating life altering complications like hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) and septicemia.
Helping victims of foodborne illness is a worthwhile cause and S.T.O.P. is a top-notch organization. S.T.O.P. should be commended for the significant accomplishments and progress it has made for food safety. Wisely, they also realize how much more work still needs to be done.
