Raw oysters and other shellfish can possibly harbor a naturally occurring bacteria known as Vibrio vulnificus. Vibrio vulnificus belongs to the same family of bacteria as Cholera (Vibrio cholera) which causes severe diarrhea, but Vibrio vulnificus is very different.
