Yesterday, CBS News broke the story that a lab has confirmed the Salmonella Montevideo multi-state outbreak was linked to the Daniele International, Inc. recall of sausage products. Pilot Program Uses Radio Frequency ID to Monitor Foods
Since 2007, the Hawaii Department of Agriculture has been working in conjunction with the USDA on implementation of a Radio Frequency ID (RFID) pilot program. Update on Salmonella Montevideo Infection in 38 States
On January 22, 2010, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported that it was looking into a Salmonella outbreak that has spread to 38 states. Young Children Show Greater Risk of Parasitic and Bacterial Infections
Data from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s FoodNet Facts and Figures website shows that children under four have the highest number of cases of bacterial and parasitic infections when compared to older individuals.  Per 100,000 individuals, there were over 28 children younger than four who contracted campylobacter, nearly 75 diagnosed with Salmonella, and 27 infected with Shigella....
